Groups

Life change happens best in community with a group of friends – old and new. Being in a community with others helps us to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. God designed us to experience life together. We need God and we need each other. When we read through the Bible we see Jesus carrying out his mission on earth in connection with a group of friends. And, in order to be the kind of Christian and church that God desires us to be, we must share our lives together more often than just on Sunday mornings. In the book of Hebrews, we are told “...spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another..."

CCV groups provide a comfortable, interesting and fun way to connect with other people and to learn more about God. Because we know one size doesn’t fit all, CCV’s Group Life Ministry offers a wide variety of groups. Whether you’re new to the "small group" thing or a veteran, no matter where you are in life, there’s a group ready to welcome you. Find couples and singles groups, mixed groups, men's and women's groups, parenting and sports groups. Jesus tells us that, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20. Plugging into a group is easy; search by category here or download the Summer 2010 Groups Catalog here. If you're having trouble finding a group, we are here to help. What is a CCV group?
A CCV group is a group of friends, meeting and serving together for the purpose of growing their relationship with Christ, connecting to each other and becoming influential in the lives of those outside the church. All CCV groups look different. Whether you are looking for community, service opportunities or Bible study, there's a group for you.

Why would I want to be in a group?
There are many biblical and practical reasons to be in a CCV group. The Bible teaches God’s desire is for us to be in a relationship with him and with one another. Jesus lived his life this way, with a small group of friends. Our faith grows in the presence of a community of faithful friends who can encourage, support and stretch us. And, while experiencing a great, relevant Sunday service is extremely beneficial to our faith, being connected to a group is vital. We can ask questions, implement what we’re learning and put concepts into action in our lives, all while having fun with our friends. Life is always better together.
